Three necklesses by Johanna Rocha
Johanna wanted to make a neckless for her best friend Elisabeth. I asked her if she had done a neckless before and she told me no. I mentioned to her that she had a great idea and told her to wait a couple minutes until I have figured out what to use to make a neckless. I got some red yarn about a yard long with a nail attached . Afterwards I gave her a piece of model magic and told her to rip the junk in small pieces and then role them into small balls about an inch in diameter. I was astonished, since she hasn't done it before, how skilled she was in rolling the stuff into small balls. The challenging part was to get those little spheres attached to the yarn. I told her to pierce the balls with the nail and then push them back on to the yarn. Since she can't see at all and has not much experience in fine motoric handling it was quite a challenge for her to attach those in the meantime into irregular shapes squeezed balls on to the yarn. It worked and she got them all attached. I had to watch and verbally guide her, while she was handling the stuff, so she wouldn't hurt herself with the nail. It was a fun experiment, we repeated the whole procedure for another two times. She has three necklesses by now, one with red, one with blue and another with black yarn. To me, they look like tribal relicts from the stone ages.
